About the PTFA

The PTFA brings together parents, teachers and friends of Wheatcroft Primary School to raise vital funds for equipment and facilities. We want to make our school the best it can be by bridging the gap between funding and requirements to offer the best opportunities to our children. Run by a small but dedicated group of parent volunteers, we aim to raise around £20,000 per year through our much-loved fundraising events, which help you create precious memories with your children during their time at primary school.

Our biggest events of the year are the much-anticipated Summer Family Festival and the ever-popular Christmas Fayre. Each term, we organise a magic show for younger years and a disco for older years, which are always great fun! In addition, we run an annual Easter Egg hunt, book sale, London theatre trip, summer ice lolly sales and more.

Money raised in recent years has supported the upgrade of the ICT suite, the development of our outdoor play / learning areas and the running of our minibuses, which give the children so many exciting opportunities outside the school grounds, such as swimming lessons, sports events and class trips.

But we need your help.

We are a small team with big plans! The PTFA relies on parent volunteers to organise and support our events, but in recent years our numbers have declined.

We urgently need more people to join our friendly committee to help deliver our programme of fundraising events throughout the year. We’d love to have parents involved from every year group, from Nursery to Year 6.  It’s a great way to meet new people and get involved with school life, as much or little as you’d like. Please be assured that you don’t need to commit lots of time! Even helping at one event a year makes a real difference and means we can keep providing these memorable occasions for our children. Mums, Dads, Grandparents: please get involved and together we can make a difference.
